Accommodation overview: Nestling in a pretty Devon village just on the edge of Exmoor National Park, this lovely conversion has been stylishly renovated and is perfect for couples and families. Brayford is one of those picturesque traditional Devon villages that you may only discover by chance. Situated just on the edge of Exmoor National Park surrounded by rolling fields and woodland and with the River Bray running through the centre, it is an ideal location from which to explore all this wonderful area has to offer. Built in the 19th century as a Baptist Chapel and Manse, this lovely conversion is at the heart of the village and enjoys a south facing garden leading to a one and a half acre paddock bordered by a stream. Hidden on the chapel side of the building, which is the owners own occasionally used holiday home is a small plot of headstones. Entering through the large conservatory into the hallway you will find to the right a stylish comfortable sitting room with original fireplace and to the left an attractive modern dining kitchen. A useful boot room and cloakroom completes the ground floor accommodation. Upstairs are two attractive bedrooms, the master double features a lovely beamed ceiling and has a separate spacious dressing room with futon, ideal for flexible sleeping arrangements and the pristine modern bathroom is ensuite. The twin room has the benefit of a separate cloakroom with WC, however access to the bathroom is through the master bedroom, making this property ideally suited to families or couples. As may be expected in a cottage of this era, there are some low doorways and ceilings in parts. The spectacular North Devon coastline or the beauty of Exmoor National Park is within easy driving distance and a whole range of outdoor activities will ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy. A fantastic place for walkers being ten minutes from the South West Coast Path. If you like waking up to far reaching, panoramic views of beautiful open countryside then you'll love Slee's Meadow View. You might also love the fact that this delightful, tastefully decorated modern detached property is just a mile from the sea and the very lovely yet rarely crowded Peppercombe Beach. At high tide this quiet stretch of beach is rocky but low tide will reveal deserted sands and some of the best rock pooling in the area. Little explorers love it! Even in high summer you could be alone here. The walk, through the wooded National Trust owned Peppercombe Valley, is superb and takes about 10-15 minutes. Dogs and their owners will love it - especially as the coast path is just 10 minute's stroll from the property. Slee's Meadow View is also just a ten minute drive from the surf and sands at Westward Ho!, five minutes from the Big Sheep theme park, five minutes from The Milky Way fun park, ten minutes from the quaint village and harbour at Clovelly and about 30-40 minutes drive along the coast road to the surf and beaches at Bude. Slee's Meadow View has a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area so it's a very social house to spend time in. A breakfast bar provides informal dining (or a chance to scrutinise the work of the chef whilst enjoying a glass of wine) and a large dining table with six places and a rise and fall lamp can bring a sense of occasion if you need it! On cooler nights the wood burning stove will add an extra cosy feel too. The southerly aspect means that the sun streams in through patio doors on sunny days and the conservatory, with its bookcases and comfy Chesterfield sofa, offers a quiet space to read or take in the views. Both bedrooms are spacious and have patio doors to make the most of the views.
