Accommodation overview: The smaller of the two properties, this lovely barn is entered from the parking area where the front door leads directly into a pleasant living room open to the apex of the roof, with a comfortable leather seating area, a fully fitted country style kitchen/diner and natural wood flooring.

A rear hallway gives access to a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower cubicle, a twin bedded room with patio door opening to the landscaped lawn and gardens and a master bedroom with a kingsize double bed and an en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin.

Stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor and an attractive landing/snug area with casual seating ideal for reading or as a children's play room and to one side a door opens to the third bedroom with two 3ft single beds tucked under the eaves with some exposed low beams.

The owners provide free charcoal/firelighters for the barbecue and can arrange for scallops, lobster, crab, fish (all weather and season dependent) to be delivered from local fishermen.

Accommodation overview: Set in a secluded position high in the Mendips above Cheddar Gorge (and just 3 miles from Cheddar), these three attractive barn conversions make an excellent base for walkers and nature lovers. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is rich in bird and wildlife, including badgers and deer (which visit the farm). Animals on the farm include calves, pygmy goats, alpacas, rabbits and guinea pigs. Nature trails criss-cross the surrounding hills, easily accessible from the farm, and the whole area is one of immense historical and geological interest.
Among the many places of interest to visit are Wells cathedral in England’s smallest city, Glastonbury Tor, the caves at Cheddar and Wookey, Longleat and several NT properties including Montacute House and Stourhead and King John’s Hunting Lodge in pretty Axbridge. Excellent beaches and seaside entertainment can be enjoyed at Weston Super Mare and Brean, and there are many charming villages to be explored, along with the rugged landscape of Exmoor National Park, famous for the native ponies. The Georgian Heritage city of Bath is easily reached with its beautiful architecture, Roman Baths, Abbey and fine selection of shops and restaurants. Several golf clubs are available locally together with horse riding, coarse fishing and trout fishing at Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes. Very good local inns and places to eat. Shops 3 miles.

Accommodation overview: At the foot of Grabbist Hill (NT) in the Exmoor National Park these four beautifully furnished and well-equipped Grade II listed cottages are set in the grounds of 16th century Ellicombe Manor. Clustered around a cobbled courtyard they enjoy shared use of an outdoor heated swimming pool with its own walled area and poolside furniture and an acre of magnificent sub tropical gardens and 3-acre paddock offering views over the West Somerset Steam Railway and across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast. The gardens are a special feature of Ellicombe Manor filled with mature palm trees named exotic plants and shrubs and quiet corners with seating. Here too visitors may discover the ‘secret garden’ or enjoy a game of outdoor chess or other outdoor games.
A mile away Dunster with its famous castle yarn market and pre Christmas candlelight shopping offers a selection of pubs shops and restaurants. Minehead’s resort attractions sandy beach and coastal path walks are also close by. Golf river and lake fishing horse riding and wonderful walking locally in Exmoor National Park and West Somerset Steam Railway weekends. One mile to the start of South West Coast Path.
