Woodside Cottage has its own enclosed garden from where you can relax and enjoy the view of Ben Rinnes, Moray's second highest mountain. The owner's land extends to over 20 acres, which visitors to Woodside Cottage are welcome to roam and admire the wildlife and scenery, which includes two large ponds and a burn. Dufftown is a good place to shop or eat out; its shops include a butchers, bakers, post office, chemist and gallery. Dufftown is the heart of Malt Whisky country, with many distilleries in the local area for you to visit and sample a wee dram. You could also pay a visit to Speyside Cooperage Centre and discover the ancient art of coopering and watch the coopers at work. This area is not only famed for its whisky - Baxters of Speyside Walkers Shortbread and Johnstons of Elgin Cashmere are some of the world renowned names established here. This area offers excellent outdoor activities including golf, cycling, fishing, horse riding and superb walking on the Speyside way. Take a trip up to the Moray coast where you may spot some of the resident population of bottle nose dolphins, who often give displays of their acrobatic talents for the patient visitor.
