Accommodation overview: Brambleside is a beautiful 4 bedroom detached house, 400 yards from the beach and Mawbray Banks nature reserve, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty overlooking the spectacular Cumbrian Coast. Guests are sure to appreciate the spacious accommodation and all the facilities provided for children, making Brambleside the perfect base for 2 families on vacation together. There is a pub in Mawbray, 100 yards from the house and a playground opposite. The popular seaside village of Allonby is only 3 miles away, with restaurants, shops, pubs and swimming pool. The sand and shingle beach has stunning views across the Solway to Scotland and is ideal for dog walking, or just relax and let the children play in the sand and paddle in the water. The Victorian seaside town of Silloth is a 10 min drive away. Maryport is a 15 min drive with attractions for all the family including Lake District Coast Aquarium and The Wave visitor centre. Newly built in 2004 and designed with a cottage style in mind, The Spinney is luxuriously furnished and equipped with a Four Poster bed and cosy open fire giving a romantic air to the accommodation. Situated in the village of Lamplugh in a wonderful rural location 6 miles south of Cockermouth, it is close to Loweswater, Ennerdale Water and Crummock Water. This peaceful non-commercialised area of the Lake District is the perfect setting for a romantic break. Fishing is available locally at Cogra Moss, which is within walking distance and there are many other beautiful walks locally. The Coast to Coast cycle route goes past the front door and the award winning Kirkstile Inn is close by for bar meals. Cockermouth is well worth a visit, with shops, restaurants, Brewery Tours and the Lakeland Sheep and Wool centre to name a few of the attractions. Trotters Animal World is a mere 20 minute drive and the seaside town of St Bees is a similar distance.

It is an ideal base for families to relax and have fun on Silecroft beach or explore the western lakes and fells. Silecroft lies in the quiet South Eastern corner of the Lake District National Park nestling between the sea and Black Coombe. Wordsworth described the area as "where the mountains meet the sea". The fabulous and challenging Black Coombe can be tackled by walking from the front door, the other lakes and mountains are only a short scenic drive away.

The front garden looks over the Solway Firth to the Scottish Hills and has the most spectacular sunsets. The beach is great for dog walking and extends for miles in either direction, with Silloth to the north and Allonby to the south. These 2 quaint seaside towns each have amenities, including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops and the Lake District is 30 minutes drive. Isabels Cottage has a wet room and a bedroom on the ground floor, which will be an advantage to guests with mobility problems.

Accommodation overview: The Old Coachmans is a perfect seaside holiday cottage; situated 20 yards from the beach, in the centre of Allonby, with a childrens play area opposite. The kids are going to love it here, but so will the adults, with views across the sea to the scottish hills, magnificent sunsets and miles of walks along the beach.Allonby is a convenient base for day trips to the Borders, Southern Scotland and The Lake District National Park. You could be in bustling Keswick in half an hour or the more peaceful, remote and unspoilt Western Lakes in about 45 minutes. Visit historic Carlisle (30 minutes) with its medieval castle, Norman Cathedral and museum or have a day out at the Roman fort and museum at Housesteads and walk along Hadrians Wall (about 1 hours drive)
