Seven Acres is conveniently located off the A595 between the villages of Gosforth (approx 1/2 mile) and Holmrook, minutes from the sea and next to the mountains of the Western Lakes. Accommodation overview: From the moment you get out of your car a feeling of calm will descend over you and all the stresses of modern day living will vanish. The hamlet of Bootle Station is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Station Cottage has an unusual location, adjoining the owners home, Station House situated right on the station itself. There are only 7 trains a day trundling along this line which runs from Carlisle to Barrow. The beach is within easy walking distance, where you can walk for miles along this unspoilt coastline. The beautiful valley, of Eskdale and Wasdale are close by. The miniature railway at Ravenglass, affectionately known as Laal Ratty will take you all the way to Eskdale Green, the kids will love it. Also at Ravenglass is Muncaster Castle and grounds. Dating back almost a 1000 years it is the ancestral home of the Pennington family and is a must see on your holiday.

There are spectacular views from the beach over the Solway Firth to the Scottish Hills and breathtaking sunsets. The beach is great for dog walking and extends for miles in either direction, with Silloth to the north and Allonby to the south. These 2 quaint seaside towns each have amenities, including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops and the Lake District is 30 minutes drive. Georges cottage is next to Isabels Cottage and may be let separately or together for up to 10 people.

It is an ideal base for families to relax and have fun on Silecroft beach or explore the western lakes and fells. Silecroft lies in the quiet South Eastern corner of the Lake District National Park nestling between the sea and Black Coombe. Wordsworth described the area as "where the mountains meet the sea". The fabulous and challenging Black Coombe can be tackled by walking from the front door, the other lakes and mountains are only a short scenic drive away.

Accommodation overview: This delightful 4 Star rated, stone built cottage enjoys a tranquil rural setting, mid way between Cockermouth and Loweswater in the Western Lakes. It sits on the banks of Sandy Beck, a haven for wildlife and birdlife, including deer, red squirrels and kingfishers. The Smithy was converted from the former Blacksmiths forge by the owners in 2008. They retained the character, with vaulted ceilings and wooden beams and complemented it with the use of high quality furnishings throughout. Lorton, Crummock Water and Buttermere are nearby, with spectacular walks on the surrounding fells. The nearest pub serving bar meals is 2 miles and a wealth of amenities are available in the vibrant market town of Cockermouth, 4 miles. The accommodation is all on ground floor, which may be helpful for people with mobility problems.

Accommodation overview: Shoremeadow, extensively refurbished for 2011, is set 150 metres from a beautiful, secluded sandy beach and enjoys a idyllic position in this tranquil south western corner of the Lakes where the mountains meet the sea.The cottage is a two minute drive from the peaceful village of Silecroft. It has stunning westerly views over the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man and easterly views to Blackcoombe Fell. The beach extends for miles in both directions and is perfect for dog walking, lazy days building sand castles or taking to the sea for fishing.
