Accommodation overview: Located in the quiet unspoilt countryside that lies behind North Devon’s picturesque coastline, Stepps Farm offers good sized accommodation that is ideal for a large family or group. The detached house has been renovated but retains its charm with exposed beams and wood-burning stove in the living room. The large kitchen/breakfast area is ideal for getting everyone fed and ready for a day on some of the local beaches or exploring the surrounding countryside and attractions. There are four reception rooms to give everyone enough space to ensure a relaxing holiday. The very generous master bedroom has en-suite facilities and the other bedrooms and bathrooms are all finished to a high standard. Outside there are plenty of sitting-out areas to enjoy and the large paddock area is ideal for a game of rounders or football or to observe the local wild life, if you are quiet! The house is situated in the pretty hamlet of Middle Marwood, however there are numerous attractions within easy reach of the house including the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle and the Lynton to Lynmouth cliff railway. At Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe, some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country can be found, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor and the South West Coast Path are located close by and on a clear day the views of the surrounding coast and countryside can be spectacular from these well known walking areas. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes, the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Great Torrington and Marwood Gardens 2 miles away. Bikes can be hired locally to explore the Tarka Trail and there is good fishing available for both game and sea fishing as well as golf courses to suit all abilities. Shop 4 miles, pub 1 mile.

Exmoor is not far away to enjoy some memorable days exploring the moors. Lynmouth, which has a unique water-powered cliff railway, and Watersmeet are popular destinations. Just off the North Devon Coast lies Lundy Island and there are day trips leaving from Bideford and Ilfracombe during the season.
Other places to visit include Arlington Court, Marwood Gardens, Dartington Crystal glass factory and Tapley Park. Horse riding, quad biking and watersports are all available locally. Shop 21/2 miles.

Accommodation overview: Nestling on the banks of the River Exe, this unique, single-storey, detached, timber house has been built to a very high standard and transformed into an immaculate holiday home by the owners. Set within 11/2 acres of grassland, and not far from the road, it has its own private entrance which really makes this a place of tranquillity and a fantastic isolated location, and the owners make guests welcome with wine, flowers, eggs and cake on arrival.
Valley Lodge is situated close to Exmoor National Park. The stunning valley views are magnificent, pheasants and other birds are plentiful, and dramatic country walks can be enjoyed. Minehead with its sandy beaches, and Dunster with its quaint village and spectacular castle, are just 20 minutes away. The Grand Western Canal and Bickleigh Castle are close by. The cathedral city of Exeter for shops, restaurants, theatre and racecourse, is approximately 20 miles. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the Tarka Trail which stretches from Dartmoor to Exmoor. Further afield there are numerous beaches that are wonderful for surfers and sunbathers alike. For those wanting a more cultural experience, the area has an abundance of National Trust properties such as Knightshayes Court and Killerton as well as other places of interest such as Tiverton Castle, Bickleigh Mill and Tiverton Canal. Local villages and sites include Dunkery Beacon, Porlock, Landacre, Dulverton and Wimbleball Lake. Exmoor is a wonderful place to visit, where sheep roam wild, buzzards soar in the sky and glimpses can be seen of red deer. The point where Exmoor meets the sea is especially stunning and the coast road from Minehead to Lynton is worth a trip. Fishing is available locally, whilst lovely local pubs and restaurants are on the doorstep, with two fabulous inns on the banks of the River Exe itself. Shop 1 mile.
