Accommodation overview: This charming, detached cottage is situated within the peaceful village of Brig O Turk, which nestles in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and offers delightful holiday accommodation all at ground level.  West Riding Cottage was only completed in 2006 and is a lovely new build property with an open plan lounge/kitchen area, one double bedroom and shower room, which can be accessed from both the bedroom and lounge.  You have full use of the owner's large, grassy garden, where you can enjoy the sun passing over the Menteith Hills and watch the wild sheep strolling by.  This quiet village is located between Loch Achray and Loch Venachar (boat hire available here), providing great all year round fishing or water activities.  The area is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise with many places to explore.  You can hire bikes at Loch Katrine, sail on the steamship "Sir Walter Scott" to the top of the Loch and then walk/cycle back home.  Or there is a fantastic circular route round Glen Finglas (staring from Brig O Turk), which can be also cycled or walked.  There is numerous forestry marked pathways within the Queen Elizabeth Forest.  Drive over the Duke's Pass and count the number of bends in the road! and then return via the 3 Lochs Forest Drive.  The Trossachs has fantastic mountains to climb - Ben A' An, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi to name a few.  There is also an abundance of wildlife from osprey to red squirrel, wild goats and pine martins, so bring your binoculars... Ideally situated to explore Callander (6 miles) or Aberfoyle (9 miles) and you are only half an hour's drive from Stirling where you can explore historical places of interest or do a spot of retail therapy! Accommodation overview: Lochside Cottage No 1 is located in the tranquil village of Kinlochard, which is in the heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. The cottage is beautifully presented, with great attention to details. The lounge has a large LCD TV, leather suite, wood burning stove, with dining/breakfast bar area behind. The kitchen is open plan to the lounge and both bedrooms are beautifully coordinated and have wall mounted TV/DVD combinations with satellite connection. The cottage sits back from the river, just behind Lochside Cottage No 2 and has full access to 15 acres of maintained ground with fields that lead down to the lochside, where fishing is free to residents from the foreshore. This is a fantastic location for outdoor enthusiasts, as you have the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest right on your door step. There are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, both walking and cycling. Ben Lomond can be viewed behind the property and it is a great Munro to climb. Surrounding you there is an abundance of wildlife to spot, birds of prey, red squirrels and pine martens to name a few. Loch Ard itself is stunning, with small islands and a crannog to explore. There are resident Canada geese and many different species of birds and ducks can be found by the loch. A gentle walk along the lochside will give you access to the hotel complex's facilities and bar. Clay pigeon shooting, farm tours, guided walks, 4x4 safari's, quad biking and sailing are available (some seasonal). In the surrounding area there are lots of other activities for every age and interests. For the adventurous there is a high wire forest adventure, with the longest zip wire in Britain at Aberfoyle. Accommodation overview: Harbour View is a sea view apartment in the idyllic and picturesque fishing village of Gardenstown. Occupying an elevated position above the pretty harbour the accommodation is on three levels, maximising the breathtaking views across Gamrie Bay. The property has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. The bright open plan living area with large windows overlooking the harbour and sea beyond is a real feature of the property. Dolphins and seals are regular visitors and the area is renowned for its wealth of sea birds and even the occasional whale has been spotted close to shore! Fishing for mackerel is particularly recommended, either off the pier or by local fishing boat, which can be arranged by the owner. There is plenty to see and do all along this beautiful coast and Gardenstown also hosts a number of special events and activities during the summer months. There are numerous castles and distilleries on the famous 'Whisky and Castle Trails'. The nearby town of MacDuff has an excellent aquarium centre, and some of the finest championship golf courses are within easy reach. Set in the heart of the traditional fishing village of Whitehills, with its quaint harbour, lovely yachting marina and superb coastal walks, it is ideally placed for exploring this beautiful and dramatic coastline.
