A 30-minute walk across farmland leads to a little known, secluded, pebble and sandy beach - Portledge beach (access only available from 2nd Feb - 31st August) - which is a wonderful sun trap and well off the tourist map, making it usually very quiet even on the busiest summer day. The spectacular South West Coastal Path has a chain of magnificent cliffs and stretches along the Heritage Coast to Hartland Point.
