Accommodation overview: Westrigg is a 2 bedroom detached bungalow enjoying a fantastic location, 100 yards from the beach along a private lane in the village of Skinburness. The sand and shingle beach stretches for miles, along to Silloth, Allonby and Maryport and forms part of the Cumbrian Coastal Way. From the beach you look across the Solway Firth to the Scottish Hills and delight in the fabulous sunsets. Further along the coastline is the RSPB Bird Sanctuary. The Lake District National Park is within 30 minutes drive as is the Historic City of Carlisle. The seafaring towns of Whitehaven and Maryport are a must to visit with their attractive harbours and various tourist attractions. Skinburness adjoins the Victorian seaside town of Silloth, still retaining its original cobbled streets and famous for its highly rated Links Golf Course. There is a holiday village in Silloth with swimming pool, bowling, gymnasium and club with evening entertainment for which you may purchase daily tickets.

The Victorian seaside town of Silloth is a 10 min drive away. Maryport is a 15 min drive with attractions for all the family including Lake District Coast Aquarium and €˜The Wave visitor centre. Mill Hill lays on the C2C cycle route outside the National Park, between Ennerdale and St Bees, an ideal base to explore both the Western Lakes and the unspoilt Cumbrian Coast. Accommodation overview: Hayton Castle is the main property on Edmond Castle Estate and is a family home as it was for most of its history, with occasional changes of use during the 20th century. The current owners have refurbished some of the estates properties into luxurious self-catering accommodation which will appeal to the most discerning guests, allowing the opportunity to stay on this historical sight, close to Hadrian's Wall. Whatever your party size there is a cottage to suit, with properties sleeping anything from 4 – 10 guests. The Peele Tower is the oldest building on the estate, dating to around 1603, when in the hands of the Howard family, the castle was designed by the renowned architect Sir Robert Smirke and built between 1824 and 1829. Each ‘cottage' is superbly equipped and luxuriously furnished to ensure a relaxing stay. There is a small lake in the grounds with an abundance of birdlife and footpaths to the surrounding countryside. Edmond Castle is situated 7 miles east of the Historic city of Carlisle, outside the village of Hayton and is ideally situated to visit the Scottish Borders, the Eden Valley, the Lake District and Hadrian's Wall.
