Other attractions nearby are Africa Alive at Kessingland, the market town of Beccles, RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich. The Horseshoes is a charming early 1700s Suffolk cottage ten minutes drive to Southwold beach. Set in an extensive garden it has a beautifully situated meadow (alongside the property's ancient orchard) where the grass is mown to create your own private cricket pitch with pavilion included! It is surrounded by farm land with footpaths leading you on excellent walks or cycle routes. The cottage is oak beamed throughout with some low beams and doors reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland doors.
