Walberswick has over a thousand acres of open access heath and marshland, protected as an Area of Outstanding National Beauty. The RSPB Bird Reserve at Minsmere is a short drive away and the seaside town of Southwold is within strolling distance along one of the many beautiful walks in and around Walberswick or the foot ferry that runs during the summer months. Within Walberswick there are tearooms, restaurants, two public houses, an art gallery, original crafts and gift shops. This is a delightful 1920's semi-detached period cottage, sitting on the edge of the common on a quiet lane. Accommodation overview: The Cabin is an ideal holiday home with sea views from the upstairs bedroom - it is almost on the beach and provides excellent family accommodation. Southwold Denes - Southwold Denes stretches from Gun Hill to the harbour's mouth and acts as a vital sea defence for the town. Suffolk Coast and Heaths (to whom our customer's £1 booking donation goes) are working with several agencies to restore and maintain the important area. It is the home of skylarks and little terns (please be careful not to disturb the nests) and the habitat of sea holly, sea pea and bird's foot trefoil to name a few. Our properties here enjoy the sunrise over the sea and stunning sunsets over the marshes. The cottage is simply furnished and is ideal for exploring all that the Suffolk Heritage Coast has to offer.
