It is a short stroll to the small shingle beach of Millook, which has dramatic rock formations and rock pools to explore. The surrounding area is one of outstanding natural beauty with the South West coastal path running very close to the grounds. Widemouth Bay with its sandy beaches and access to all manner of water sports is only two and a half miles away. Situated on this dramatic coastline, the approach road to Mill Farm is steep and winding, but well worth the journey when you finally see the beautiful setting. In either direction there are interesting coastal towns and villages to explore. This comfortable self-catering home from home has a welcoming dining room with large wood burning stove and complemented by oak dining furniture and a pretty window seat, with views across the garden to the valley beyond. Original beams and doors add to the authentic atmosphere. Following an extensive renovation programme in 2012, the accommodation now offers a spacious new kitchen and two newly built bathrooms. Both bathrooms have bath and shower cubicles with a power shower. From the dining room you enter the newly renovated kitchen with its integrated appliances. Access to J27 of the M5 is less than an hour away. As soon as you enter through the pillared wooden gates onto the private sweeping driveway, you will know you have arrived somewhere really special to relax and unwind. The spacious contemporary accommodation is light and bright throughout, with high quality furnishings, stylishly presented. A superbly equipped kitchen/dining room is at the heart of the house, where the whole family can gather for leisurely breakfasts or catch up on the days adventures over dinner. This dual aspect room has French doors opening onto a choice of two terraces, which enjoy the sun at different times of day. Two separate living rooms ensure plenty of space for everyone to relax or play and both have doors which open directly onto one of the terraces which surround the property on all sides for easy access to superb views. There are five attractively furnished bedrooms on the first floor. The master bedroom features a pretty Juliette balcony, ensuite bathroom and huge walk in wardrobe. A second king room also benefits from an ensuite shower room. The third bedroom is a double aspect room with sleeping options for a family offering great flexibility by way of two zip and link king size beds that can be converted to four singles on request. The grounds which immediately surround the house are mostly lawned, overlooking paddocks and woodland with wonderful views far into the distance. An elevated tree house (young children will need to be supervised)will provide amusement for the younger guests and a small orchard is being established in a further corner of the expansive gardens.
In the grounds just across the gravelled car park there is a delightful self contained cottage that sleeps two with its own kitchen/diner and bathroom. The cottage is secluded and has a private garden area. There is a residential let in until August 5th, however if you are interested in renting both Priory House and Priory Cottage altogether after this date please contact the office and we will provide you with a special tariff.
For larger family groups or for two families holidaying together, Priory House is just perfect for getting away from it all in spacious comfortable surroundings. The golden sandy surfing beaches of Saunton and Croyde are approximately twenty-five minutes drive away and the fringes of beautiful Exmoor National Park even closer.
