The large dining/kitchen is well equipped to rustle up tasty suppers after a busy day surfing or enjoying any number of activities on offer here. Outside and to the front is a pretty courtyard garden providing a sitting out area ideal for barbecues or morning cuppa while planning the day ahead. If you are looking for a truly secluded retreat, then Peppercombe Holt is for you. Nestling in a tranquil wooded valley leading down to the sea, nature lovers will be enthralled by the canopy of ancient trees and the abundance of ferns and wild flowers. Approached via a narrow track of just over one third of a mile - unsuitable for low suspension or extra wide vehicles - it adjoins the owners own holiday cottage, just used occasionally. The cosy living room with inglenook has a wood burning stove, lovely at any time of year. The modern breakfast kitchen features a slate tiled floor complimented by granite style worktops and is well equipped for all your needs. From a rear utility room, useful for coats and boots, five steps lead up to the modern family bathroom and an open tread staircase leads to the three bedrooms on the first floor. A spacious double room, a compact twin room and a single room, all have wonderful views and feature deep window sills, and traditional latched board doors. As may be expected in this type of cottage some doorways have low head room. Keen walkers will find endless coastal and country footpaths leading almost from the doorstep, a favourite being the walk to Peppercombe Beach, shown in the photograph, with its unique red cliffs and mini waterfall, pebbles at high tide give way to a lovely sandy inlet with interesting rock pools and beach fishing at low tide. A gravel path and steps lead up to the front entrance and into the open plan living room with comfy leather sofa and flat screen wall mounted TV. The modern kitchen area is well equipped, featuring a breakfast bar, and there is one double bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Weez House is an ideal choice for surfers, and keen walkers will enjoy exploring the footpath leading almost from the doorstep to the stunning beach at Putsborough around 20 minutes away. To holiday with friends we also have a cottage called Thatcher’s Leggett in the same location. Croyde offers everything you could need in a seaside village, a renowned surfing beach, character cottages and a great selection of pubs and restaurants. Weez House is something a little different, perfect for couples and a welcoming retreat at the end of a fun filled day. Please note that infants are not accepted.

It really does offer the best of both worlds; this impressive detached home is surrounded by stunning rural scenery yet sits only two miles from the principal market town of Barnstaple and just a short drive away from a choice of stunning North Devon beaches. Access to J27 of the M5 is less than an hour away. As soon as you enter through the pillared wooden gates onto the private sweeping driveway, you will know you have arrived somewhere really special to relax and unwind. The spacious contemporary accommodation is light and bright throughout, with high quality furnishings, stylishly presented. A superbly equipped kitchen/dining room is at the heart of the house, where the whole family can gather for leisurely breakfasts or catch up on the days adventures over dinner. This dual aspect room has French doors opening onto a choice of two terraces, which enjoy the sun at different times of day. Two separate living rooms ensure plenty of space for everyone to relax or play and both have doors which open directly onto one of the terraces which surround the property on all sides for easy access to superb views. In the grounds just across the gravelled car park there is a delightful self contained cottage that sleeps two with its own kitchen/diner and bathroom. The cottage is secluded and has a private garden area. There is a residential let in until August 5th, however if you are interested in renting both Priory House and Priory Cottage altogether after this date please contact the office and we will provide you with a special tariff.
For larger family groups or for two families holidaying together, Priory House is just perfect for getting away from it all in spacious comfortable surroundings. The golden sandy surfing beaches of Saunton and Croyde are approximately twenty-five minutes drive away and the fringes of beautiful Exmoor National Park even closer.
