Accommodation overview: Only a five minute drive to the lovely sandy beaches at Mawgan Porth & Watergate Bay this spacious accommodation is in the major part of a 200 year old extended double glazed cottage and provides an ideal base for a family to explore the dramatic coastline and many attractive beaches on the North Cornish Coast.

From the shared brick paved drive a couple of steps and stable door open into the entrance porch with a tiled floor and coat hooks. A further glazed inner door leads into the sitting room with a large double glazed window, wood burning stove with comfortable lounge seating. This light and spacious room leads onto the kitchen through a doorway opening into the bright and modern well equipped fitted kitchen with ample storage. A large archway leads through to the conservatory with a dining suite and an adjacent utility room with W.C. Sliding patio doors lead out to the securely enclosed walled courtyard garden from the conservatory with a sunny terrace, raised beds and a step up to a decking area.

A carpeted staircase leads to the first floor with three light and pleasant bedrooms, a Kingsize double with digital TV, a twin and a single all with storage and a family bathroom W.C with hand basin and shower over the bath.To the front of the property is a shared open brick paved drive with two reserved parking spaces for Lighthouse cottage. There is a pub in the hamlet within five minutes walk.

Mawgan Porth 1.5 miles has a pub, caf, surf hire and local store and for a wider selection of amenities the resort of Newquay is 5 miles with many beaches, a zoo, leisure centre, bowling, cinema and aquarium. The famous harbour at Padstow is 9 miles where you can enjoy one of Rick Steins many eateries, visit the Elizabethan house at Prideaux Place, cycle the Camel trail to Wadebridge or take a ferry across to Rock with access to the beaches at Damer Bay and Polzeath by foot. For the water enthusiast the Extreme Academy at Watergate Bay provides many water based activities 1 mile away and is home to Jamie Olivers Fifteen restaurant. There are many golf courses in the area and the national Trust house Trerice and Lappa Valley Railway are within 6 miles.

An additional conservatory and large greenhouse providing fabulous extra space for dining and entertaining adjoins the living room.

The owners provide free charcoal/firelighters for the barbecue and can arrange for scallops, lobster, crab, fish (all weather and season dependent) to be delivered from local fishermen.

Katys Cottage is a charming two bedroom cottage set over three floors, situated in the pretty village of Kingsand on the Rame Peninsula. There is a small patio area in front of the property ideal for relaxing and taking in the views across the village and out to sea.

Situated on the Rame Peninsula, the historic villages of Kingsand and Cawsand offer a haven of peace and tranquility. Relax on the beach or in one of the village pubs or cafes or take a stroll through the narrow streets of colour washed cottages and shops that follow.

Swimming, fishing, windsurfing and water skiing are all available on the beaches or you can follow the coast path through the village and the Mount Edgcumbe estate to Cremyll. In the other direction the coast path takes you round the headland to the glorious sandy beach of Whitsand Bay.

From Cawsand, and just a few minutes walk from the property, you can take a passenger ferry across to the city of Plymouth which offers an abundance of high street and independent shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, theatres and attractions to suit everyone. The Barbican and Hoe are steeped in history and are definitely worth a visit.
