There are Martello Towers along this stretch of coastline, built to resist a potential invasion by Napoleon. The main town of Felixstowe offers the visitor a good selections of shops, restaurants, seafront bars, seaside attractions, cinema, leisure centre with swimming pool, Tourist Information, Spa Theatre and a viewing point where many of the world's largest container ships arrive at the busy Port of Felixstowe.
