Suffolk Coast and Heaths (to whom our customer's £1 booking donation goes) are working with several agencies to restore and maintain the important area. It is the home of skylarks and little terns (please be careful not to disturb the nests) and the habitat of sea holly, sea pea and bird's foot trefoil to name a few. This busy town standing at the mouth of the rivers Deben and Orwell, benefits from a four mile stretch of a sand and shingle beach a two mile paved promenade dotted with colourful beach huts and beautifully kept seafront gardens. Other than enjoying the sea views from any well placed seats along the prom, visitors can enjoy activities such as coastal walks, sailing, fishing, golf or bird watching to name but a few. There are Martello Towers along this stretch of coastline, built to resist a potential invasion by Napoleon. The main town of Felixstowe offers the visitor a good selections of shops, restaurants, seafront bars, seaside attractions, cinema, leisure centre with swimming pool, Tourist Information, Spa Theatre and a viewing point where many of the world's largest container ships arrive at the busy Port of Felixstowe.
