Accommodation overview: Scholars Cottage is a pretty terraced property. It is furnished to a very good standard and is situated on the edge of Reydon. It has access to great footpaths for walking and cycling but also within walking distance of the beach at Southwold. Reydon is only divided from Southwold by Buss Creek, a narrow stretch of water where the fishing boats (busses) of long ago used to tie up. All properties therefore have easy access to beaches and town centre amenities by road and various footpaths. Reydon boasts two well-stocked village stores, as well as the Randolph Hotel which has an excellent restaurant and good locals' bar. Scholars Cottage is a pretty terraced property. It is furnished to a very good standard and is situated on the edge of Reydon. It has access to great footpaths for walking and cycling but also within walking distance of the beach at Southwold, or if you prefer there is a bus stop just 50 yards away. Scholars Cottage is ideally situated for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and those wishing to relax and enjoy the seaside air. The community playing field is also close by so ideal to walk your dog. Southwold Denes - Southwold Denes stretches from Gun Hill to the harbour's mouth and acts as a vital sea defence for the town. Suffolk Coast and Heaths (to whom our customer's £1 booking donation goes) are working with several agencies to restore and maintain the important area. It is the home of skylarks and little terns (please be careful not to disturb the nests) and the habitat of sea holly, sea pea and bird's foot trefoil to name a few. However, the much-acclaimed pier was rebuilt in 2001 and was the first to be constructed in England in over 50 years.
