The nearest pub is 3 miles, at Abbey Town, with many more amenities in Silloth including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops. Accommodation overview: Hall Carleton is a spectacular, well located and detached traditional Cumbrian Farmhouse, with many features such as cast iron fireplaces, exposed beams, situated on the coastal estuary of the River Irt, in the Western Lake District. It is a spacious five bedroom Victorian farmhouse situated within the Lake District National Park, close to the popular Roman village of Ravenglass, with a mixed sand and pebble beach only a short walk away. Ravenglass has plenty of amenities including a post office, railway station, gift shop and a variety of places to eat including the Pennington, The Ratty Arms and Holly House, all serving excellent food, wine and beer, and within walking distance. There is easy access to local attractions such as Rosehill Theatre, Coast Aquarium at Maryport and Muncaster Castle with its maze, Himalayan gardens and owl centre, along with Wordsworth house and brewery tours in Cockermouth as well as the famous Ravenglass and Eskdale Narrow Gauge Railway. Nearby there is the harbour town of Whitehaven. Only a short distance away are the easily accessible Lakes, you will never be short of somewhere to visit whilst staying at Hall Carleton Farmhouse. Fantastic panoramic views of the Western Fells, including Wast Water, Scafell can be seen from all around the working farm. Fishing is available for guests.
