Old Bog Farmhouse is situated in a peaceful, rural area, surrounded by open farmland and with views to the Lake District Mountains. Aldoth is in North West Cumbria, 5 miles from the Victorian seaside town of Silloth and the wonderful Cumbrian coast and within easy reach of The Lakes, Carlisle and Hadrians Wall. There are numerous nature reserves along the coast and excellent walks along the beaches and nearby fells. The nearest pub is 3 miles, at Abbey Town, with many more amenities in Silloth including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops. There are 2 golf courses within 5 miles, one in Aspatria and the award wining Links course at Silloth.

Situated 1/2 mile from Ravenglass, a pretty fishing village on the Cumbrian Coast, with sandstone houses, pubs, hotels, shops and cafes. The Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow gauge railway operates from the village station and travels along the Eskdale valley. Wast Water, Englands deepest lake, Sca Fell our highest mountain and the beautiful Wasdale and Eskdale valleys are all near by and offer great walking.
