Accommodation overview: Beautifully situated within the magnificent Ardmarnoch Estate which has lovely views out to Loch Fyne, the hills and surrounding countryside, these 3 stunning holiday properties offer wonderful holiday homes. Each cottage has been restored and refurbished to a very high standard with beautiful finishing touches to ensure visitors every comfort. Guests are welcome to enjoy the walled garden and to stroll through the estate. Mown paths lead through oak woods and heather to ponds or the shoreline and there is a private beach on Loch Fyne. Visit the Iron-Age fort, Neolithic burial chamber and old arboretum within the grounds. The estate has abundant wildlife including birds, seals, otters, deer and much more. Highland cattle and Tamworth pigs look perfectly at home in their surroundings. The estate manager is on hand to arrange sea fishing trips, clay pigeon shooting, night safaris and weekend catering. A stocked trout pond lies close to the cottages and permits are available. This is a fairly remote spot, 2 miles along a private road and 8 miles from the shops and hotel restaurants in Kames / Tighnabruaich. At the recently opened Portavadie Marina (6 miles), there is a small shop and lovely restaurant as well as the ferry service for Tarbert.

Situated in the beautiful old stone-built courtyard, this cottage is attached to Bucks House (AG660a) and both properties can be linked to accommodate 12 persons. This delightful property is spacious and full of charm and character. As one twin bedroom is on the ground floor, it may suit some disabled visitors and a ramp can be provided.

Accommodation overview: Surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Kintyre Peninsula Barmore Farm offers visitors a wonderful holiday at any time of the year. Once the home farm steading on the historic Stonefield Castle estate these fine old stone built cottages have been lovingly restored. Clustered around a pretty landscaped courtyard the attractive crow stepped gables are among many original early 19th century features which enhance their period charm and character. Set in 30 acres of countryside grounds Barmore offers plenty of space for boules badminton football and a large secure children's games area. Sailing horse riding and clay pigeon shooting can all be arranged and the cottages are just 2 miles north of the fishing village of Tarbert on Loch Fyne where there are shops and a good choice of inns and restaurants. Stonefield renowned for its sub tropical gardens which flourish in the mild Gulf Stream climate is just 200 yards from the cottages and has a small beach which is sandy at low tide (more extensive beaches are 20 minutes by car). Quintessential Argyll the Kintyre Peninsula offers some wonderfully scenic forest and hill-walking. The local Art Centre is a nature lovers' treat with its deer park wildfowl pond and museum area. Ferries to the beautiful isles of Mull Iona and Colonsay are available from Oban (an hour's drive) while trips to Islay Jura Gigha and Arran are available close by. Five superb golf courses including the 18 hole championship links course at Machrihanish are close at hand. Cycle hire is available at Barmore Farm and there are numerous tracks to follow.
