This is the perfect location for a special 'get away from it all' break - the cottage is reached by 3/4 mile of farm track. The cottage is comfortably furnished with a sunny conservatory where you can relax and watch the sunsets. The front and rear gardens are quite delightful, with garden furniture and a barbecue provided.
Shoreline walks can be enjoyed from the cottage and the 190 mile Solway Heritage Trail winds through the beautiful scenery of the Solway Coast from Gretna to the Mull of Galloway. This unspoilt area boasts lovely beaches and a wide range of recreational amenities including cycling, golf, birdwatching, fishing, sailing and places of interest including St Ninian's Cave and The Whithorn Story (where Scottish Christianity began). There are 2 good pub/ restaurants in Isle of Whithorn and seafood is available at the harbour.

Accommodation overview: In a spectacular position, close to the shores of Loch Linnhe with panoramic views over the loch to the mountains of Kingairloch beyond, this charming semi-detached cottage is part of the original ferryhouse which is approx. 240 years old. With a fascinating historical background, the ferryhouse has been sympathetically modernised to create a holiday home of unique character with several features put back as they might have been originally. The large sunroom takes advantage of the wonderful views and the rooms are traditional and plain in style. There is an enclosed garden to the front and rear where a path leads down onto the beach. The very picturesque village of Port Appin is an ideal base for exploring and Oban is within a 40 minute drive. Day trips can be enjoyed to Glencoe and Fort William or by taking the passenger ferry from Port Appin across to the island of Lismore. The village shop is 30 yards from the property and there are two excellent restaurants nearby.

Robert Burns's country can be fully explored from here or take a day trip by ferry to the Isle of Arran, often described as Scotland in Miniature.
