Accommodation overview: Commanding spectacular sea views from a wonderful elevated position, this charming, cosy cottage has views to the Kirkcudbright coast, Cumbrian Fells and the Isle of Man. This is the perfect location for a special 'get away from it all' break - the cottage is reached by 3/4 mile of farm track. The cottage is comfortably furnished with a sunny conservatory where you can relax and watch the sunsets. The front and rear gardens are quite delightful, with garden furniture and a barbecue provided.
Shoreline walks can be enjoyed from the cottage and the 190 mile Solway Heritage Trail winds through the beautiful scenery of the Solway Coast from Gretna to the Mull of Galloway. This unspoilt area boasts lovely beaches and a wide range of recreational amenities including cycling, golf, birdwatching, fishing, sailing and places of interest including St Ninian's Cave and The Whithorn Story (where Scottish Christianity began). There are 2 good pub/ restaurants in Isle of Whithorn and seafood is available at the harbour.

Accommodation overview: In a delightful rural setting, high above the village, this charming detached cottage enjoys panoramic views over rolling countryside to the Lomond Hills. Very well appointed, all rooms are bright and very comfortably furnished. The large enclosed garden has a patio with furniture and is ideal for outdoor living or children playing. Sitting at the end of a private lane leading up from the village there is a lovely tranquil atmosphere and a true "away from it all" feeling. All accommodation is ground floor.
The village hotel and shop are 1 mile with further facilities 3 miles away in the seaside resort of Leven. All along the East Neuk coastline are picturesque old fishing villages, sandy beaches, sheltered coves, excellent links golf courses and quality restaurants while inland quiet roads run through fertile farmlands and country villages. Walkers have the scenic coastal trail or pretty country paths to enjoy and riding is available at the nearby Balcurvie Riding Centre. Accommodation overview: These two attractive single storey semi-detached cottages have been created from an old steading and are situated in 1/2 acre of grassed grounds. There are wonderful views over the Laigh of Moray and the cottages share a large grassed garden with patio and garden chairs, adjacent to the owner's holiday home. The cottage interiors are well-maintained with comfortable homely furnishings. There are many National Trust Properties in the area, ancient fishing villages along the coast and the famous Whisky Trail. Fishing is readily available and there are excellent golf courses to choose from. The village of Hopeman with its lovely beaches, shops and pub, is 2 miles away.

Accommodation overview: This delightful cottage is just the ticket for a cosy holiday in the pretty coastal village of Port William. Light, airy and spacious with lovely views of the sea and pretty terraced garden, Harbour View retains a charm all of its own. Port William offers everything you could possibly need and all virtually on the doorstep! This is an ideal base for walking, cycling, fishing and golf. Dumfries and Galloway is one of Scotlands best kept secrets and this area known as The Machars is no exception with something for everyone. This magnificent coastline is endowed with sandy bays and stony beaches and hidden caves all designed to inspire the imagination. The wildlife is second to none including otters and seals being a frequent sight especially before sunset. Monreith has a lovely sandy beach and a 9 hole golf course. There is a memorial to the author, Gavin Maxwell of Ring of Bright Water fame, in the form of a bronze otter. Scotlands National Book Town at Wigtown is less than a half hours enjoyable drive away and besides playing host to an exciting annual literary festival it is also a pleasant little town offering many facilities. Essentially Wigtown is a book lovers haven and with over a quarter of a million old and new books to choose from, youll not leave empty handed! Scotlands most southerly distillery sits beside the luscious green banks of the River Bladnoch, from which it takes its name. It has been producing the Spirit of the Lowlands since 1817. Can you refuse a wee dram! Guests are assured of a warm welcome when visiting Port William. The village holds an annual Carnival Week with events for all the family. Harbour View is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Luce Bay, from Burrow Head to The Mull of Galloway has been designated as a Special Area of Conservation to protect the natural habitats of fauna and wild flora much of it rare and protected. For nature watch lovers both botanists and bird watchers will be delighted by the variety of wildlife to be found both on land and sea. Badgers, deer and foxes are occasionally seen close by. A visit to the nearby Burrow Head will take you back to the famous closing scenes of the cult film The Wickerman which was shot at nearby Burrow Head which is on the route to the Isle of Whithorn. Dont worry if you miss the ferry you can always walk across! It is beautifully situated on the eastern shoreline of the 'Kyles of Bute' and simply offers peace and tranquility, away from the stresses of everyday life. Accommodation overview: Holly Cottage is a delightful single storey detached cottage, nestling in the peaceful open countryside looking out to the sea in the distance. The property has recently been totally renovated to offer comfortable and spacious holiday accommodation. The pretty village of Catterline, perched on cliffs overlooking the bay and harbour, is only 1 1/2 miles away and boasts the Creel Inn renowned for its excellent sea food. Stonehaven is just 3 miles away and offers a good selection of shops and restaurants along with the UKs only Olympic size, filtered heated, seawater open air swimming pool! (open June to September). Stonehaven also has its own picturesque harbour, where you can stop for a bite to eat and sample some real ale. Fowlsheugh, the RSPB reserve at Crawton is well worth a visit; the cliffs at Fowlsheugh are packed with 130,000 seabirds and where grey seals and minke whales are occasionally spotted. The wild life reserve at Montrose Basin is just 20 miles south and has a visitor centre with viewing gallery to provide panoramic views for a variety of birds. During the summer months you can take a boat trip from Stonehaven, past Dunnotter Castle admiring the sea cliffs and bird colonies, if you are really lucky you might even spot a dolphin. Dunnotter Castle is only a further 2 miles. This dramatic ruined cliff top fortress is a very important part of Scottish history and holds many rich secrets of Scotlands colourful past! If you are lucky enough to be here for New Year you may have the opportunity to witness the spectacular fireballs festival. Aberdeen with its bright city lights is approx 18 miles away. The granite city offers a range of fantastic first class restaurants combined with a thriving cultural calendar and shops galore. The city of Dundee, and Arbroath - home to the famous Arbroath Smokie are also easily accessible. For those who like to explore, the North East coastal trail, which winds its way from St Cyrus in the south through Stonehaven and Aberdeen and round to Findhorn, runs for more than 150 miles, with cliffs, coves, beaches and bays. The castle and malt whiskey trails in Royal Deeside are both within easy reach, giving you the opportunity to learn about Scotlands history and have a dram! For the more adventurous the area has a network of cycle routes, good gold courses and endless walking opportunities. Accommodation overview: This delightful, one bedroom, semi-detached, traditional stone built cottage, nestles in the small, quiet village of Clachan. Stables Cottage was indeed once a stable and it has been cleverly converted into unique holiday accommodation. The cosy, open plan lounge/kitchen area has all you require and the French doors lead out to a patio area and then down into a shared garden. When relaxing on the patio the sound of the river can be heard as it flows by and there is a lovely view to the hills beyond. The open wooden staircase leads up to the bedroom, which has a large, feature circular window, offering a fantastic view out onto the hills. A short 20 minute walk from the village leads down to a lovely sandy beach and there are several good walks close by. The local hotel is within walking distance and has a bar/restaurant.
