In Gosforth you will find shops, pubs and restaurants. Places of interest nearby include Muncaster Castle and Owl Centre, and the Laal Ratty miniature railway.

Accommodation overview: This charming seaside cottage has a superb location, directly across the road from the sand and pebble beach at Beckfoot. There are spectacular views from the beach over the Solway Firth to the Scottish Hills and breathtaking sunsets. The beach is great for dog walking and extends for miles in either direction, with Silloth to the north and Allonby to the south. These 2 quaint seaside towns each have amenities, including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops and the Lake District is 30 minutes drive. Georges cottage is next to Isabels Cottage and may be let separately or together for up to 10 people.

Accommodation overview: The Old Coachmans is a perfect seaside holiday cottage; situated 20 yards from the beach, in the centre of Allonby, with a childrens play area opposite. The kids are going to love it here, but so will the adults, with views across the sea to the scottish hills, magnificent sunsets and miles of walks along the beach.Allonby is a convenient base for day trips to the Borders, Southern Scotland and The Lake District National Park. You could be in bustling Keswick in half an hour or the more peaceful, remote and unspoilt Western Lakes in about 45 minutes. Visit historic Carlisle (30 minutes) with its medieval castle, Norman Cathedral and museum or have a day out at the Roman fort and museum at Housesteads and walk along Hadrians Wall (about 1 hours drive)

Accommodation overview: Row Moor Farm is situated close to both Cockermouth and Maryport, between the Lake District Fells and the Solway Coast. Each of which are within a few minutes drive. You may enjoy gentle walks along the beach or choose more strenuous mountain walks. Cockermouth is famous as the birth place for William Wordsworth but has many other attractions, including The Sheep and Wool Centre, numerous art galleries, the Kirkgate Arts Centre and a good selection of Restaurants, Shops and Pubs. At Maryport there is the Harbour, Maritime museum and Aquarium of the Lakes. The border City of Carlisle is within 30 minutes drive. Barn Cottage and Loft Cottage are adjoining each other on a working farm, next to the owners house. They may be let separately or together for up to 11 people.

The railway line was opened in 1861 to carry iron-ore and coal from the nearby mines and in later years carried passengers before closing in 1954.

Situated 1/2 mile from Ravenglass, a pretty fishing village on the Cumbrian Coast, with sandstone houses, pubs, hotels, shops and cafes. The Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow gauge railway operates from the village station and travels along the Eskdale valley. Wast Water, Englands deepest lake, Sca Fell our highest mountain and the beautiful Wasdale and Eskdale valleys are all near by and offer great walking. Guests can take advantage of s 20% discount for entry to Muncaster Castle and a 10% discount off meals at the Pennington Hotel.
