Thetford Forest is Britain’s largest lowland pine forest and offers extensive walks and bicycle trails - cycles can be hired from the High Lodge Forest Centre, home of Go Ape. In summer, High Lodge also offers great activities including open-air concerts and music festivals. The imposing NT property Oxburgh Hall is 3 miles; within easy reach are the market towns of Swaffham and Downham, Newmarket for racing or the ever popular cities of Norwich and Cambridge. For a more restful break there is bird watching, fishing or walking. There are footpaths nearby and guests also have use of the owners’ 4-acre orchard.
