Accommodation overview: This fisherman's cottage has been fully modernised, with many of the original beams retained. It is a really cosy character cottage which is in a great location for a holiday in Cromer. Cromer is a traditional seaside resort with a cliff-top setting and wide sandy beaches running down to the sea. It is famous for its fishing boats that still work off the shore and offer freshly caught seafood. The town has a fine pier, a local history museum, a new lifeboat museum, a golf course, multi-screen cinema, Amazonia zoo, indoor children's play barn, Kart Track, cycle hire, shops and restaurants as well as seafront entertainment, making it ideal for a family holiday. Cromer church tower is the tallest in Norfolk and the more adventurous might like to climb to the top to enjoy the wonderful views. This fisherman's cottage has been fully modernised, with some original beams retained making a cosy character cottage. Accommodation overview: One of four very well appointed cottages offering sympathetically restored accommodation with use of a large recreation barn. Happisburgh (pronounced Haisbro) is a seaside village on the North East Coast of Norfolk, famous for its red and white lighthouse. It offers visitors a quiet, rural location, sandy beaches and cliff-top walks. The village has a post office/store and a traditional coaching inn and is within a 15-minute drive of the market towns of North Walsham and Stalham with easy access to the Norfolk Broads and many other tourist attractions. In past years, Church Farm has been a favoured holiday location for famous artists such as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson and Ivon Hitchens, keen to relax in a rural idyll. The large grain barn and stables have been sympathetically converted to retain character and create four beautiful cottages, which all have exposed flint walls and old beams. There is a large recreation barn (9am-8pm) offering a racket sports area, a pool table, table tennis table and a comfortable seating area with books and games. Each cottage has its own door allowing access directly into the recreation barn. Shop/Pub: 0.25 miles  Typically suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance. With exposed flint walls and beams, Hitchens Cottage is on one level, with two spacious bedrooms created from buildings that stabled horses used for the Happisburgh lifeboat. Creatively furnished, the cottage features artwork by Ivon Hitchens. It has an enclosed patio and garden area with gas barbecue, rotary dryer and outside furniture.

The property is well equipped and there is a pretty enclosed cottage garden. There are many walks from the village and you could leave the car at home and use the Coast Hopper bus service which stops in the village or take a ride on a steam train into Sheringham or Holt. Stiffkey has a shop and a pub which serves food, with further amenities available in the lovely Georgian town of Holt, which is seven miles away.
