There are several golf courses within a few miles and the Lake District National Park is a half hour drive.

Lorton, Crummock Water and Buttermere are nearby, with spectacular walks on the surrounding fells. The nearest pub serving bar meals is 2 miles and a wealth of amenities are available in the vibrant market town of Cockermouth, 4 miles. The accommodation is all on ground floor, which may be helpful for people with mobility problems.
