Experience some true British heritage by visiting some of the stately homes, castles and abbeys in the area, such as Burton Agnes Hall known for its collection of Renoir and Monet paintings, or Sledmere Hall with beautiful gardens, both within a 20-minute drive. The wonderful market town of Beverley, where the ancient cobbled streets are lined with quaint little shops and the friendly locals are waiting to greet visitors, is a mere 12 miles. Driffield market town is but 2 miles from the property and still hosts a weekly market and a farmers’ market once a month. The North York Moors steam train can be boarded to discover some of Yorkshire’s finest scenery as it chugs its way through the beautiful Esk valley into the famous village of Goathland - renowned for its connections with TV’s Heartbeat. A little further south of the village is the elegant seaside town of Scarborough. Golfing, fishing, sea trips, cycle and walking tracks are all available locally.
