Accommodation overview: Knott View is part of Muncaster Estates, which includes the historic 12th century Muncaster Castle and beautiful grounds, owned by the Pennington family for the past 8 centuries. This 18th century house adjoins Newton House, the 2 properties may be let separately or together for up to 22 people and are set in over an acre of grounds. It is 1/2 mile from Ravenglass, a pretty fishing village on the Cumbrian Coast, with sandstone houses, pubs, hotels, shops and cafes. The Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow gauge railway operates from the village station and travels along the Eskdale valley. Wast Water, Englands deepest lake, Sca Fell our highest mountain and the beautiful Wasdale and Eskdale valleys are all nearby and offer great walking. Guests can take advantage of a 20% discount for entry to Muncaster Castle and a 10% discount off meals at the Pennington Hotel.

Accommodation overview: Hardcragg Hall sleeps up to 14 in 7 bedrooms and has 6 bathrooms, with numerous seating areas and even a working bar, an excellent choice for those celebrating a special occasion, be it a birthday, anniversary or simply the annual family get together or intimate celebration. The rooms are of good quality, many with sea views, all with colour TVs. The delightful grounds are fully enclosed and secured by electric gates. Accommodation overview: The Old Coachmans is a perfect seaside holiday cottage; situated 20 yards from the beach, in the centre of Allonby, with a childrens play area opposite. The kids are going to love it here, but so will the adults, with views across the sea to the scottish hills, magnificent sunsets and miles of walks along the beach.Allonby is a convenient base for day trips to the Borders, Southern Scotland and The Lake District National Park. You could be in bustling Keswick in half an hour or the more peaceful, remote and unspoilt Western Lakes in about 45 minutes. Visit historic Carlisle (30 minutes) with its medieval castle, Norman Cathedral and museum or have a day out at the Roman fort and museum at Housesteads and walk along Hadrians Wall (about 1 hours drive)

Accommodation overview: Nook Cottage is a lovely well stocked Lake District cottage with a coal fire and enclosed courtyard and garden. It is an ideal base for families to relax and have fun on Silecroft beach or explore the western lakes and fells. Silecroft lies in the quiet South Eastern corner of the Lake District National Park nestling between the sea and Black Coombe. Wordsworth described the area as "where the mountains meet the sea". The fabulous and challenging Black Coombe can be tackled by walking from the front door, the other lakes and mountains are only a short scenic drive away.

Accommodation overview: From the moment you get out of your car a feeling of calm will descend over you and all the stresses of modern day living will vanish. The hamlet of Bootle Station is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Station Cottage has an unusual location, adjoining the owners home, Station House situated right on the station itself. There are only 7 trains a day trundling along this line which runs from Carlisle to Barrow. The beach is within easy walking distance, where you can walk for miles along this unspoilt coastline. The beautiful valley, of Eskdale and Wasdale are close by. The miniature railway at Ravenglass, affectionately known as Laal Ratty will take you all the way to Eskdale Green, the kids will love it. Also at Ravenglass is Muncaster Castle and grounds. Dating back almost a 1000 years it is the ancestral home of the Pennington family and is a must see on your holiday.

Accommodation overview: Shoremeadow, extensively refurbished for 2011, is set 150 metres from a beautiful, secluded sandy beach and enjoys a idyllic position in this tranquil south western corner of the Lakes where the mountains meet the sea.The cottage is a two minute drive from the peaceful village of Silecroft. It has stunning westerly views over the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man and easterly views to Blackcoombe Fell. The beach extends for miles in both directions and is perfect for dog walking, lazy days building sand castles or taking to the sea for fishing.
