Dating back to 14th century medieval times, Laurel Cottage is Grade II listed and retains much of its olde worlde charm with a pretty interior and cottage-style garden front and rear. Just 4 miles from many golden sandy beaches of the English Riviera, and seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton, Goodrington and Brixham. Historic Totnes, 4 miles, has an abundance of independent shops, bistros, health food shops and farmers market. Dartmouth, nestling on the River Dart, is 9 miles by road and small ferry across the river. Shops 50 yards. Beamed living room, rugs on tiled floor, large gas ‘wood burner’, dining area. This is the perfect spot for a truly relaxing holiday – a large balcony leading off the master bedroom offers plenty of space, and steps lead from here to a secluded 40-ft patio bordered by unspoilt woodlands and enjoying river views. With its built-in, native stone barbecue, this is the ideal place to dine out-of-doors on languid summer evenings. The Boathouse’s position along the quayside at Stoke Gabriel is a paradise for boating enthusiasts. Nestled on an estuary of the River Dart, this charming village is not only noted for its sailing – but also boasts a choice of traditional inns and a beautiful Norman church. Medieval Totnes is just minutes away by car, whilst a few miles further lies Dartmouth with its famous steam railway (summer only), cruises and boat hire on the River Dart. The seaside resort of Torquay is a 20-minute drive, offering fine sandy beaches, coves, cliff walks, an interesting harbour, marina, excellent leisure facilities and children’s amusements. A spectacular flair and attention to detail are features of the conversion of this old stone boathouse.
