The friendly owners live next door, but privacy is assured and the property benefits from a private patio area. The property is perfect for a romantic escape and is nestled within a short stroll from the village pub serving excellent food. Just a couple of miles from the coast, well placed to take advantage of the coastal beaches and scenery of North Devon. Several local attractions nearby to choose from including RHS Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic harbour village of Clovelly. In the evenings, enjoy a stroll along the country lanes, or relax with a glass of wine on the private rear courtyard. The accommodation offers ONE bedroom: double accessed by three steps from the living area. Bathroom: adjoining the living area with shower over bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen: open-plan with comfortable seating and sofa bed, TV with Freeview and DVD. Kitchen area with breakfast bar, electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave. This lovely 19th century detached cottage offers a private and peaceful location within the heart of the popular village of Littleham, with the added benefit of a traditional family run pub a 5 minute walk away. The village is surrounded by typically Devon countryside with views as far as Dartmoor and Exmoor, and a 10 minute drive from the coast with its sheltered coves, long sandy beaches and cliff top walks. The market town and historic maritime port of Bideford is 3.5 miles away and offers shops, pubs, restaurants, Burton Art Gallery and Museum, and The Oldenburg for trips to Lundy Island. There is much to see and do in North Devon you will be ideally placed for many attractions, the gardens of RHS Rosemoor, National Trust Arlington Court, golf at England's oldest links course at Westward Ho!, walking or cycling the Tarka Trail, or visiting the picturesque villages of Clovelly, Appledore and Instow. In the evenings, relax with a glass of wine in the private garden with pond, or enjoy a meal at the village pub. Furnished to a very high standard, the cottage offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double and 1 single. Shower room: modern double sized shower with WC. Separate WC downstairs. Accommodation overview: Nestling in the peaceful countryside in the grounds of the owners stunning thatched cottage, this recently renovated single-storey property is full of character which makes it an ideal retreat for couples. As well as the owner's cats, chickens and ducks, there is an adjoining field with a horse and grazing sheep. The village pub which offers good home cooking is within easy walking distance, and you will be just a 10 minute drive from the stunning coastline, perfect for a cliff top walk. The historic port town of Bideford, offering shopping, pubs and restaurants, the fishing village of Appledore and the seaside town of Westward Ho! With its sandy beach, are all within a 10-15 minute drive. Visit the nearby famous fishing village of Clovelly or Bucks Mills with its pebble beach. There are lots of leisure activities to entertain all including golf, various water sports including surfing and windsurfing, horse riding, walking and fishing. Attractions in the area include RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Tapeley Park and Gardens, Dartington Crystal and numerous National Trust attractions including Lundy Island. The accommodation offers ONE bedroom: double room. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge/diner: light and spacious at the heart of the barn, featuring wooden flooring, beams and wood burner (first basket of logs included), TV with Freeview, DVD and hi-fi, and additional sofa bed to sleep 2 extra people if required. Some steps lead from the living area to the other rooms. Kitchen: with flagstone floors, oven, hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher, an adjoining store room offers freezer and tumble dryer. Outside: lovely garden to the side and rear of the cottage, together with shared use of 1 acre garden with garden furniture and BBQ. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric and electric heating included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome, however must be kept on leads at all times. Additional info: regret no cot, but guests are welcome to bring their own travel cot. Guests may also purchase fresh produce including bread and cakes, free range eggs and vegetables.
