Accommodation overview: Situated in the picturesque Taw Valley in North Devon, this large detached barn conversion offers a real retreat from the world. Set within its own grounds, the house is well furnished to cater for every occasion. The pretty hill top village of Chulmleigh is situated close by and has a range of shops, restaurants and a pub. The holiday property has lovely quiet surroundings, however it is well positioned to explore this beautiful part of Devon.
The popular market town of South Molton has a weekly farmers’ market and a variety of shops, antique and curio shops, pubs and restaurants. Barnstaple, 12 miles, additionally has a theatre, cinema and leisure activities, and places of interest including the Museum of North Devon, Pannier Market, 14th-century St Anne’s Chapel and 18th-century Queen Anne’s Walk. Other family attractions in the area include RHS gardens at Rosemoor, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Kilarney Springs, Exmoor Zoo and Dinosaur Park.
Spectacular beaches at Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! are all within easy driving distance. Horse riding is available locally at Chulmleigh and sailing, windsurfing and fishing can be enjoyed at Tamar Lakes and Wimbleball Lake, as well as Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Golfers can enjoy a round at Chulmleigh Golf Course within 1 mile of the house and at others which are within 5 miles. There is some excellent game fishing available locally at the Fox and Hounds Hotel at Eggesford. Shops 1 mile, pub 2 miles.
