Fine sandy beaches and excellent walking fishing and sailing are found along the coast. Harlech's championship golf theatre and massive castle are just 11 miles whilst Portmeirion Italianate village and Porthmadog home of the Ffestiniog and West Highland narrow gauge railways are about 15 miles. A fantastic range of outdoor activities including climbing walking skiing and white-water rafting are available in the lakes and mountains of the Snowdonia National Park – and a trip up Mount Snowdon itself is a must on foot or by train.
