The picturesque market town of Kelso with its quaint cobbled streets is 7 miles away and offers a wide array of facilities including a cinema, indoor swimming, a pottery and ice rink. Golfers will enjoy the prestigious Roxburgh course and Springwood Park showground hosts many international horse riding events throughout the year. The salmon rich River Tweed will delight those who enjoy fishing and Floors Castle (which is softly illuminated at night) is home to the Duke of Roxburgh. Dolgellau and Harlech with its magnificent castle and championship golf course are both 10 miles distant and the nearby Fairbourne narrow gauge steam railway promises an unforgettable trip – accessed from the pedestrian ferry at Barmouth's harbour quayside. Shops pubs and restaurants are found in Barmouth (1 mile) and the town also hosts the Three Peaks race and a music festival in summer. Pub serving food 300 yards.
