Accommodation overview: Killearn, a semi-detached former fisherman's cottage, has been lovingly extended to offer a very spacious, bright holiday home, which is warm, welcoming and has all the amenities of home. There are stunning views over the harbour and across the Dornoch Firth. Sliding doors in the dining room open onto the patio and walled garden, a perfect suntrap, with garden furniture and a barbecue. The children's playground and the beach are just steps away.
Killearn is centrally located in the charming village of Portmahomack. The 'Port', as it is affectionately known to the locals, dates back to the Vikings and Picts and has a long fishing history. Small local fishing boats still share the waters with sailboats, windsurfers and, quite often, pods of dolphins. There are two small hotels as well as an excellent seafood restaurant. The crescent-shaped sandy beach is a playground for children and the local 9-hole golf course welcomes visitors, but for those who want to venture further, Tain Golf Course and Royal Dornoch are just a short drive away. Portmahomack is an ideal base for exploring the nearby Tarbet Ness Lighthouse, Tarbet Discovery Centre and the work of local potters and weavers. The world famous Glenmorangie Distillery is only 15 minutes away. Inverness is 50 mins by car. For a day trip, head north to John O'Groats or across to the West Coast.

Accommodation overview: Situated in a quiet backwater overlooking the Caledonian Canal, with the waters of the Beauly Firth beyond, yet just over a mile from the centre of Inverness, Canalside Cottage is ideally located for enjoying a Highland break. The accommodation offers a delightful combination of old world charm and modern living. Situated right on the banks of the Caledonian Canal, it was originally a fishermans cottage. The current owners retained the lovely old thick stone walls whilst completely rebuilding the cottage internally. It now provides an exceptionally high standard of accommodation, with bright spacious open-plan living areas, two modern bathrooms and three large bedrooms. Exposed woodwork and deep-silled windows add to its cottage charm and character. The large French windows open out to a courtyard patio garden, with stunning views across the wide sweeping waters of the Beauly Firth. Canalside Cottage is situated in a very quiet lane at the entrance of the Caledonian Canal, from where it flows into the sea.

Self catering accommodation in Rogart sleeps 4.
Features include: Non Smoking Fishing near by Beach close by Easy Walking Pub near by Pets allowed Parking Available Golf near by Has a Garden
Accommodation overview: The Brackens is a quintessential Highland cottage that has been lovingly restored to create a truly charming country retreat in a secluded yet easily accessible location. This traditional detached cottage is set in its own grounds and enjoys spectacular, uninterrupted views of the surrounding hills and valleys away into the distance. Situated just 1/2 mile away from the pretty stone village of Pittentrail, sometimes referred to by locals as Rogart and offers the very best of both worlds - total seclusion yet only 1/2 mile walk to the local pub and restaurant. The tiny hamlet of Rhemusaig where the cottage stands apparently means the place of the primroses and this is certainly very apt, as the hillsides surrounding the cottage are simply covered with them in Springtime. The owner is a professional orthinologist and the gardens and local area are a haven for birdwatchers; osprey, golden eagles, wood-peckers, hen harriers, red starts and even the very rare red poll are seen in the vicinity.
