Accommodation overview: The house offers bright modern and very spacious accommodation all on one level. The large open plan lounge / dining room affords panoramic views across the bay. The main bedroom also enjoys the same spectacular views. Ceol Na Ron is situated in a quiet no-through road that winds through the hills to the historic clearance village of Avernish. There are superb walks direct from the house, including a lovely walk across the Sound out to an island in the bay at low tide. It is just 5 miles from the Kyle of Lochalsh, the charming sea port village that is the gateway to the Isle of Skye. There are a variety of small, unusual shops here, together with cafes and restaurants. A glass-bottomed boat also runs from Kyle to view the sea life close to hand. The Gavin Maxwell Otter Centre at Kyleakin is well worth a visit and numerous distilleries and ancient historical sites are all within easy reach. Armadale Castle, seat of the Clan Donald, with its superb gardens and grounds set in 20,000 acres, also houses a fascinating museum and is easily accessible in the south of the island. Boat trips to see the seals, dolphins and whales run from Armadale harbour. The ferry also sails from here across to Mallaig on the mainland. This part of the island is known as the garden of Skye and is renowned for its superb walking, climbing, bird-watching and beautiful fauna and flora. It also offers easy access to a wealth of historical sites and places of interest. There is also plenty to see and do right on the doorstep. The fairy tale castle of Eilean Donan, enchantingly situated on a promontory in the loch and accessed by a small causeway, is just 3 miles away. A spectacular route takes you past this famous castle and through the amazing mountain range known as the Five Sisters of Kintail and beautiful Glen Shiel, before reaching the shores of Loch Ness. The picture post card village of Plockton is also close by, made famous as the venue for the television series Hamish Macbeth. With its picturesque flower-filled gardens, little winding streets and pretty cottages lining the foreshore it easy to see why it has also become a haunt for artists in recent years. With its close proximity to the Isle of Skye and the mountains, hills, lochs and coastline of the Western Highlands, this lovely loch-side house makes an ideal base for exploring this spectacular region of Scotland.

Accommodation overview: Muirdean is a detached cottage situated in its own lovely gardens overlooking Gruinard Bay on the stunning West Coast and the available accommodation occupies the whole of the ground floor. The cottage has bright, spacious rooms and is furnished and equipped to a high standard. The main lounge has large picture windows which look out across the adjoining Gruinard Bay to the Summer Isles beyond. The Dundonnell and An Teallach mountain ranges from a stunning backdrop. Completely enclosed and backing onto open hills, it is safe and secure for children and pets. The cottage is situated on a quiet no through road that leads to the quaint village of Mellon Udrigle, with its beautiful white sandy beach. There are numerous other beautiful sandy bays close by, including the renowned Gruinard Bay. There is a small jetty a few metres away from the cottage from which to launch small boats. Wildlife abounds in the area, and visitors can encounter dolphins, whales, sea eagles, golden eagles and an abundance of deer which roam the surrounding hills. The area is a walker's paradise, with superb hill and mountain walks suitable for all abilities. The sub tropical gardens of Inverewe, just 11 miles away, are well worth a visit. Fishing in loch, river and the sea are all popular pastimes. There are a variety of golf courses in the area and riding, mountain biking and a various water sports are all accessible locally. For a joint family holiday or for larger groups, this cottage can also be let with Kildonan Lower and Kildonan Upper, which are situated next door.
