Built of sandstone, with whitewashed walls and deep silled windows, it sits on the edge of the village green in the pretty hamlet of Fearn in the beautiful county of Ross-Shire. There are stunning views over the harbour and across the Dornoch Firth. Sliding doors in the dining room open onto the patio and walled garden, a perfect suntrap, with garden furniture and a barbecue. The children's playground and the beach are just steps away. Killearn is centrally located in the charming village of Portmahomack. The 'Port', as it is affectionately known to the locals, dates back to the Vikings and Picts and has a long fishing history. Small local fishing boats still share the waters with sailboats, windsurfers and, quite often, pods of dolphins. There are two small hotels as well as an excellent seafood restaurant. The crescent-shaped sandy beach is a playground for children and the local 9-hole golf course welcomes visitors, but for those who want to venture further, Tain Golf Course and Royal Dornoch are just a short drive away.
