Accommodation overview: This traditional croft house is situated in a scenic and peaceful location in the crofting community of North Erradale, 6 miles along the coast from the charming little port of Gairloch. A wide range of walks can be enjoyed, from strolling along the beautiful beaches, forest walks and nature trails to the more demanding mountains of Torridon. River, loch fishing and sea angling are all available and permits, where necessary, can be obtained in Gairloch which offers a range of shops, restaurants, pubs and leisure facilities as well as a popular golf course and lively pier.

Perched on the edge of Loch Kishorn in the small hamlet of Achintraid Johans cottage enjoys spectacular views of the Applecross Mountains with an ever changing seascape in the foreground. The garden grounds extend down to the waters edge and seals and even the occasional otter can be seen close by. There are mussel beds in the bay and when the tide is out visitors can walk across the sand to gather fresh mussels for dinner. There is also an excellent seafood restaurant in the nearby village of Kishorn.

Accommodation overview: In a spectacularly beautiful and peaceful situation at the tip of the Tarbat Ness peninsula, this historic former lighthouse keeper's cottage enjoys magnificent unobstructed views - eastwards over low cliffs across the Moray Firth to the Cairngorms and westwards over pasture to the Dornoch Firth and Sutherland mountains. The cottage is all on one level with only 1 entrance step. The very well-maintained interior provides compact, comfortable, homely accommodation, with double glazing and central heating throughout.
There are 2 acres of walled and fenced grounds surrounded by meadow and a heather clad Nature Conservancy area, providing wonderful hiking, fishing and bird watching on the doorstep. Seals and porpoises can often be seen playing off the rocky shore-line which is just 100 yards from the cottage. Portmahomack village, 3 miles away, has a shop, hotels, restaurant, golf course and a sheltered, gently shelving sandy beach.
