Accommodation overview: With stunning uninterrupted views over the sea, Summer Isles and Torridon Mountains, this lovely detached stone house was built by the owner's grandfather in 1923 and is a much-loved family holiday home. The house is very spacious, sunny and comfortable with many homely touches, including a small book/DVD/video library.
There is a safely enclosed cultivated garden with deckchairs and room for children to play, 2 mountain bikes are provided by the owner. The area offers many outdoor attractions including fishing, sailing, sandy beaches, hill-walking and mountain climbing. The Inverpolly Nature Reserve and Inverewe Gardens are well worth a visit, or take a boat trip to see the seals. Shop (1/4 mile) pub/hotel 1 mile. Main shopping in Ullapool (25 miles).

Accommodation overview: Harvest Cottage is a quintessential village cottage. Built of sandstone, with whitewashed walls and deep silled windows, it sits on the edge of the village green in the pretty hamlet of Fearn in the beautiful county of Ross-Shire. The cottage has been lovingly and painstakingly restored by its owners. The accommodation on the ground floor is all open plan. A bright, modern kitchen/ dining area leads through to a lovely lounge, dominated by a beautiful fireplace constructed from the original sandstone, with multi fuel stove creating a superb focal point French doors open out to the front which leads directly onto the pretty village green with traditional village pub on the far side. The solid wood staircase leads up to bright and airy modern bedrooms. From the landing there are amazing views across the open countryside to the Moray Firth beyond.

Port Henderson is a scattered crofting community spread along a quiet single-track road leading to the magnificent golden beaches at Red Point. 2 miles along the road, the picturesque hamlet of Badachro has a little harbour and an excellent inn and the fishing port of Gairloch is 7 miles away with shops, restaurants, museum and links golf course. Within easy reach are Inverewe Gardens, Beinn Eighe Nature reserve and the Torridon mountains, popular with walkers and climbers.

The historic community of Durness is a friendly welcoming place in a unique location and the local shops, restaurant, visitor centre and hotel are within walking distance as are the award winning beach and the magnificent Smoo Cave which can be explored by walkways and boat. The village is also home to the most remote golf course in Scotland and the thriving and unusual Balnakeil Craft Village. The furthest corner of the country, Cape Wrath, is inaccessible by road but can be visited by a unique ferry and mini-bus tour, a trip not to be missed. Accommodation overview: This traditional stone built cottage dates back to the mid 1800's and was originally the Post Office for the village. Set back off the main road, the cottage is in the heart of the small village from where visitors can enjoy peaceful walks surrounded by unspoilt scenery. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife in the area which has a beautiful coastline with safe sandy beaches and coves. Picturesque Gruinard Bay nearby is popular with artists and photographers. The road south passes through magnificent scenery to the famous Inverewe Gardens (9 miles) and on to Gairloch which offers boat trips, sailing, golf and a fascinating Heritage Museum. A trip eastwards could take you to Ullapool for the day. Laide itself is a haven of peace and tranquillity for a relaxing break.
