Accommodation overview: Just off the main road from Glencoe to Fort William, in a traditional scattered crofting community, these two very attractive semi-detached cottages were purpose built in 2009 to the highest standards. Exceptionally well appointed, they offer outstanding comfort incorporating every convenience and all rooms are comfortably furnished with lovely finishing touches. Each cottage has a raised deck with outdoor furniture facing west to the distant mountains, there are large shared grounds with a small stream and a short walk down a quiet lane leads to the shore of Loch Linnhe where there is a lovely pebble beach with magnificent views. All accommodation is on the ground floor and there is full ramp access.
Surrounded by dramatic sea and mountain scenery, this beautiful part of Scotland offers a huge choice of activities throughout the year. including winter sports and downhill mountain biking at Aonach Mor, climbing in the surrounding mountains and at the Kinlochleven rock climbing school, hill walking, sailing, diving, water sports, golf and angling. The local shop and hotel are within walking distance and 9 miles away Fort William nestles under Scotland's highest mountain Ben Nevis with excellent shops, leisure facilities and a distillery visitor centre. At Corran (1 mile), a car ferry crosses Loch Linnhe giving access to the remote and beautiful Ardmamurchan peninsula where a further ferry crosses to the Isle of Mull. This is an ideal base for exploring with scenic roads leading out to Oban, Glencoe, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, Loch Ness and Mallaig.

Accommodation overview: In a spectacular position, close to the shores of Loch Linnhe with panoramic views over the loch to the mountains of Kingairloch beyond, this charming semi-detached cottage is part of the original ferryhouse which is approx. 240 years old. With a fascinating historical background, the ferryhouse has been sympathetically modernised to create a holiday home of unique character with several features put back as they might have been originally. The large sunroom takes advantage of the wonderful views and the rooms are traditional and plain in style. There is an enclosed garden to the front and rear where a path leads down onto the beach. Bed linen and towels provided.
The very picturesque village of Port Appin is an ideal base for exploring and Oban is within a 40 minute drive. Day trips can be enjoyed to Glencoe and Fort William or by taking the passenger ferry from Port Appin across to the island of Lismore. Cycle and boat hire can be arranged locally and other activities include fishing, pony trekking and hill-walking. The village shop is 30 yards from the property and there are two excellent restaurants nearby.

Grigadale is accessed by a beautiful 60 mile drive from Fort William, the last 30 miles are via a spectacular single track road which winds through magnificent coastal and mountain scenery - the house is spectacularly positioned in one of the last remote and unspoiled areas of Scotland. The dramatic, wild mountains, rich forests and varied coastlines offer superb opportunities for walking, biking, birdwatching and fishing. The ferry from nearby Kilchoan to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull offers a great day trip. There is a hotel within 2 miles, an excellent coffee shop at the lighthouse and a well-stocked shop in the village of Kilchoan which is 5 miles away.

Once the home farm steading on the historic Stonefield Castle estate these fine old stone built cottages have been lovingly restored. Clustered around a pretty landscaped courtyard the attractive crow stepped gables are among many original early 19th century features which enhance their period charm and character. Set in 30 acres of countryside grounds Barmore offers plenty of space for boules badminton football and a large secure children's games area. Sailing horse riding and clay pigeon shooting can all be arranged and the cottages are just 2 miles north of the fishing village of Tarbert on Loch Fyne where there are shops and a good choice of inns and restaurants. Stonefield renowned for its sub tropical gardens which flourish in the mild Gulf Stream climate is just 200 yards from the cottages and has a small beach which is sandy at low tide (more extensive beaches are 20 minutes by car). Quintessential Argyll the Kintyre Peninsula offers some wonderfully scenic forest and hill-walking. The local Art Centre is a nature lovers' treat with its deer park wildfowl pond and museum area. Ferries to the beautiful isles of Mull Iona and Colonsay are available from Oban (an hour's drive) while trips to Islay Jura Gigha and Arran are available close by. Five superb golf courses including the 18 hole championship links course at Machrihanish are close at hand. Cycle hire is available at Barmore Farm and there are numerous tracks to follow.
