This fine Victorian former vicarage and coach house, set in extensive grounds next to the church with views over open country to the sea, lies in the village of Ugthorpe on the edge of the North York Moors National Park some 7 miles north of Whitby. This is a spacious traditional home with great charm and character and is furnished to a high standard. Peaceful and secluded but not remote, this home is the perfect holiday setting for gatherings of families and friends.
The Coach House was renovated and linked to the main house by the present owners and is ideal for grandparents or teenagers or a young family needing some privacy.
A good base for exploring the coastline and the North York Moors. Excellent beaches at Runswick Bay and Sandsend and the moorland village of Lealholm are all within around an easy 10-minute drive. Shop in Lealholm offers grocery deliveries. The village pub is under 10 minutes’ stroll. Excellent country for walking, cycling and riding. Shop 3 miles. Old Vicarage: Spacious hallway with piano. Living room with open fire. Sitting room with open fire and TV. Fine dining room with seating for twelve people and sea view. Large, kitchen/breakfast room with TV and oil Aga.
