This large Georgian house is one of a row and sits in the heart of the historic market town of Pickering - an ideal home for that special celebration or that long awaited family holiday. Follow the winding fruit tree-lined footpath with wild flowers and different seating areas which provide a space for a quiet moment alone. Al-fresco dining is catered for with a real treasure of a barbecue area so whether the sun shines or not gourmet barbecue meals can still be enjoyed. Pickering hosts a weekly market and the cobbled streets are lined with an eclectic mix of shops inns and tea rooms. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train departs from Pickering at regular intervals throughout the summer season and an enjoyable day can be had as it chugs its way through the beautiful Esk Valley stopping at the well known villages of Grosmont and Goathland, both known for their connections with TV’s Heartbeat. Explore the Heritage coastline of Yorkshire with the historic port of Whitby being an easy 28 miles and the elegant seaside town of Scarborough just 18 miles, where miles of award-winning sandy beaches make for a perfect day with the children. Visit York, a 45-minute drive along the A64, with its excellent shopping, abundance of art galleries and museums, striking Minster and leisurely boat trips along the river. Walkers and cyclists are all catered for with direct access to the North Yorkshire Moors from the door, and Dalby Forest some 15 minutes away is home to world mountain bike events, and bikes can be hired in the forest. Live music festivals, picnic and barbecue areas and children’s playgrounds are here, surrounded by stunning woodland walks and beautiful landscaped and natural garden areas. Historic homes, halls and stunning gardens surround the area with Castle Howard and Duncombe Park just 30 minutes from the door.
