Situated in the centre of a picturesque scattered crofting village at the extreme North-West corner of Scotland this traditional cottage sits on an elevated site with its back to the road and enjoys panoramic views over the shore to the Atlantic Ocean. Comfortably furnished in a complementary manner it offers ideal accommodation for families or groups of outdoor enthusiasts with the conservatory and adjacent deck making the most of the wonderful views and sunsets. There is private parking.
The historic community of Durness is a friendly welcoming place in a unique location and the local shops, restaurant, visitor centre and hotel are within walking distance as are the award winning beach and the magnificent Smoo Cave which can be explored by walkways and boat. The village is also home to the most remote golf course in Scotland and the thriving and unusual Balnakeil Craft Village. The furthest corner of the country, Cape Wrath, is inaccessible by road but can be visited by a unique ferry and mini-bus tour, a trip not to be missed. The final approach to Durness is by scenic single track roads which offer magnificent vistas of coast, sea and mountains at every turn. Sutherland is a vast unspoiled wilderness of great natural beauty offering unrivalled walking, climbing, biking, angling, geology and ornithology.
